Want a pothole fixed? Draw a Dick!

Now I'm not saying to go do this, but it did work for one United Kingdom town. The residents of Acklam, Middlesbrough in the UK got fed up with a growing number of potholes in their roads and the lack of involvement in getting them fixed by their city council. Resident Brad Nicholson, had said that the city finally fixed the pothole, but only days after graffiti of a penis appeared. Keep in mind, the pothole had been there for around a year.

A spokesman for Middlesbrough Council said:

Middlesbrough, like all local authority areas in the country, has issues with potholes and repairs are carried out on a priority basis determined by the risk they pose to highway users.

Currently, however, we are carrying out pre-planned works in the Acklam area and staff were able to visit the nearby site on Fane Grove when the matter was reported to us and have patched over the hole.
