8 Things You Should Never Throw Away in Washington
What items should you NEVER throw away? Certain things are no-brainers, but others may make you scratch your head and ask why? We have a list of 8 items and the reasoning behind why you need to avoid chucking these in the garbage can before garbage day, and do your best to dispose of them in a more appropriate manner.
A Rush On Garbage Day
The idea for this article started THIS MORNING. With the recent holiday, I didn’t think our garbage was going to be picked up today. Needless to say, I was wrong, and my wife was right.
I heard the truck picking up at our neighbors' house across the street, and knowing the routine, I had 10 minutes before the truck would be in front of my house. So, the flight of the bumblebee to pick up garbage took effect!
In grabbing all the garbage, my hand went to the dead batteries that I had just pulled out of a remote. My wife gave me the riot act about them. I’ve thrown them away in the past, WE ALL HAVE, but after the excitement of the morning, I thought about it, and WHY can’t we chuck them in the trash? Is what I know about them true?
Or what about the life hack my grandfather told me? Get rid of old paint by throwing it on an old carpet, waiting for it to dry, and then throwing the carpet away. Make sense to me, but I’ve never done it, and I’m still not sure if you should.
