Children of the 80's & 90's (I was born in 1981, so that includes me) at some point in their lives loved superheroes. Comics, cartoons, toys, anything and everything. Well, I'm not going to say which movie really kicked off the superhero movie renaissance, but I will say, when we got the 2002 version of Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire & the start of the Sam Raimi trilogy, we were stocked, and I personally loved it (even #3). Well, the trilogy was originally going to have a 4th entry, that would have had the web crawler going head to head with the Vulture & Black Cat, (at least according to WhatCulture Comics). Sadly, we never got that with Sony deciding to reboot the franchise. Never fear, some film makers in Washington state, are creating their own spectacular masterpiece to give us the film that many of us have longed for!

I saw the trailer for the Spider-Man 4 Fan Film trailer (below) pop up on my social media feed. Being the nerd that I am, I was intrigued & sure enough, there's an official IMDB.com page. My jaw dropped when I saw that one of the actors in it, is Moxee/Yakima man, Ed Edica playing the role of Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin!

According to Ed & writer Bryn Clayton Jones, the project started to take shape in late 2018 when Ed & Bryn along with a few other friends started working on a Sinister Six short (unrelated to the Raimi films). After hearing about the never made 4th Spider-Man film, He (Bryn) pitched the idea to make their own Spider-Man 4!

The fan film is based off of all the known details for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. Raimi's film was still being written when it was canned by Sony so we'll never really know what the final script would have been but we did our best to fill in the blanks. We're all fans of the series and thought it'd be a lot of fun to try to recreate that early 2000's comic book world.

The crew for the fan film, are all fans in their own rights, and have known each other from the local convention scene. With some help of different acting groups & casting calls, they were able to round out the cast for the Film. When asked if they've gotten any push back from the likes of Sony & Marvel, Bryn commented, "Not really, I know for a fact that some people at Sony were made aware of the project back when we got on the news but overall Marvel and Sony don't care about fan films." That in my opinion is a great thing, so we can get a fun movie made by the fans, for the fans!
