We asked and you answered, Yakima Valley: Who taught you how to cook?

The question came up when it started to sink in that the post-covid pandemic rise in groceries and restaurant meals is never going back down. It has become pretty expensive to eat out anymore, let alone go shopping for a few ingredients to make dinner!

WHAT FORCED ME TO START COOKING AT HOME

After I balked at having to shell out over thirty dollars for TWO, count 'em, 2 sub sandwiches at a local chain restaurant, I decided it was high time to start making my own food at home. I also decided that it was about time that my 11-year-old child started helping me cook a few meals, too. I have spoiled her long enough! What is a good age to start teaching kids how to cook?

MY CHILD HATES LEARNING TO COOK FROM ME

It's not like I haven't tried to teach her how to cook before. Every time I attempt to teach her how to cook something, she huffs, puffs, and rolls her eyes inward. Perhaps someone else should teach her how to cook since she hates having to learn it from me. Unfortunately for her, she has no siblings or nearby grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins who could pitch in to help her learn how to cook. She's stuck learning how to cook from me!

Here are some of the answers we saw from our listeners who answered the question: Who taught YOU how to cook and what did you learn to make?
