Many residents in the Yakima Valley are busy this week going to work, going to the Central Washington State Fair, and taking care of work and community service commitments. How about carving some time to enjoy these 5 fun things to do this last week of September in the Yakima Valley?
We found five really fun things to do this week including taking in a cool musical theater show, an open mic night, a ‘pumpkin palooza’, a pie making cooking class, and of course, some highlights for the last week of the fair.

BUDDY - THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY AT CAPITOL THEATRE

I am a new board member at the Capitol Theatre and excited that the Buddy Holly story musical is coming to Yakima. If it’s anything like the recent Frankie Valli story musical that also toured the Capitol Theatre, it’s going to be full of great energy from the cast and a fun, rock ‘n roll show! Ticket prices range from the cheap seats ($20) all the way up to front row sections ($79).

OPEN MIC NIGHT AT BEARDED MONKEY MUSIC

The open mic is there for anyone interested in singing, comedy stand-up, musical performance, slam poetry, you name it.

PIE MAKING COOKING CLASS AT HEALTHY EATS CLASSROOM
1101 W Yakima Ave Suite #115, Yakima
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH AT 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M.
Chef Adrianne from Johnson Fruit Orchard’s Little Bake Shop is going to show how to make three pies, a quiche with feta cheese, dill, and zucchini, and a pie with tomato, ricotta cheese, and arugula pesto.

PUMPKIN PALOOZA AT THE PROSSER FARMERS MARKET

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1ST AT 8 A.M. TO NOON
Move over, Charlie Brown! The city of Prosser is bringing in a great pumpkin celebration featuring a pumpkin weigh-in to find the biggest, most gigantic pumpkin, pumpkin bowling, and decorated pumpkins that you can purchase at the farmers market.
