What is the best, bad decision you’ve ever made? We asked our listening and reading audience that very question, and the answers were very heartfelt (and some comical). We have the top answers given below.

The Best Bad Decision I’ve Ever Made

My friend asked me this question, and it took me a moment of thinking before I could come up with an answer. When I gave him my answer, he questioned why. Why did I think my career in Radio Broadcasting was a bad decision, and why was it the best bad decision?

I’ve been working in Yakima Valley radio for over 26 years now, and there were about 3 years that I “left”. Even though I was no longer on the payroll, I was still helping out on the morning show (long story). When they invited me back, I knew about the industry, the worry for the future (before AI or any of that came into being), and just the life that this type of job can bring.

But knowing where I was with my other jobs (yes, jobs as in multiple), it was a leap of faith to come back full-time, and since then, it has been a blast, and the flexibility to help out with my family and their needs (something the previous jobs couldn’t afford).

I asked that very same question to our listeners, and the top two answers were very heartwarming.

“What’s the BEST bad decision you’ve ever made?”

We received a wide variety of answers, from attending summer concerts, job-related choices, and even choices on vehicles. But two answers were repeated more than the others.

* 'Getting Married' or 'Getting Re-Married'

And

* 'Having children'

And if you’re curious about what my friend's response to that question was, it was “having children,” although, to properly quote him:

“Not pulling out!” – Greg T.
