Mother’s Day at the Yakima Downtown Farmer’s Market? Mom Says Yes

It feels as though at this time of the year, we truly begin our entry through the gateway from springtime toward summer here in the Yakima Valley.

One of the sure signs for me is the return of the Yakima Downtown Farmer's Market.

Yakima Downtown Farmer's Market Opens This Sunday, Mother's Day

The Yakima Downtown Farmer's Market is returning this weekend, just in time to welcome Moms for Mother's Day. The place to be Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM downtown, is right in front of the historic Capitol Theater.

My wife and I routinely visit this market every weekend and I must give props to Yvette Lippert, Manager of the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market for having done such a great job in the face of challenges over the past couple of years. This year promises to be bigger and better now that COVID restrictions have been lifted and there are so many new things along with old favorites to look forward to.

In a press release, it was said "Market Manager, Yvette Lippert, has done a masterful job in bringing an exciting mix of produce, flowers, crafters, food producers, hot food vendors, and ag-related producers to the market, once again this year, along with many value-added vendors who fully create and handcraft their products. All the fun starts this Sunday, May 8!"

Each week, we pick up many of our usual 'must-haves' like Buhrmaster Bread, and fresh veggies from Dagdagan Farms, and frankly, each week we find something new.

That's just scratching the surface, the nature of the produce business is - whatever is in season - you can enjoy it - fresh. Be sure to treat Mom to something special on the opening day of Yakima’s Downtown Farmer’s Market. Hooray, hooray for the 8th of May!
