*This article is completely satire and is in response to a previous satire article. The lawsuit is not real nor holds any true value and was written for entertainment purposes only. Also, if you're still reading this, please refrain from disturbing ducks or any other beautiful wildlife we share our community with. Thank you.

“This Is an Outrage!!”

These were the words felt throughout the community as a local hack journalist, writer of the article, ‘Yakima Ducks: Power Couple’ or Public Menace?', published their hit piece on some well-respected ducks in our community.

Gerald Q. Mallard and Daphine R. Mallard were painted as local menaces, with their reputations attacked. These wonderful ducks have been nothing but a pleasure in our community, so when this sloppy hit piece dropped, the ducks knew what had to be done.

The Lawsuit Begins

On May 30th, 2026, The Mallards filed a defamation lawsuit through their attorneys, represented by Waddle, Quack & Pond, PLLC. The lawsuit alleges the author acted with direct malice, using their media platform to harm the reputation of these beautiful ducks.

The Mallards served papers on the author accompanied with two feathers plucked from their own bodies, expressing the anxiety and harm they claim to have suffered, clearly showing their lawsuit is not something they want to be taken lightly or just brushed off.

Earlier this month, I broke the story on 40th Avenue’s latest power couple to grace the West Valley community with their beauty and charm. Gerald and Daphine are pillars in the city of Yakima and have brought nothing but cheer and joy to their neighbors, as seen in my previous article, 'Meet Yakima’s Adorable Duck Couple Living on 40th Ave'.

What Quacks Next?

Now that their lawsuit has been served, we wait to see how the case will proceed through the courts. Gerald says he feels optimistic, with the future of their reputation on the line, stating, “I trust in the legal system to make the right decision.”

Mr. Mallard hopes to appear in court as soon as a hearing date is announced by a judge. We will follow this story and share updates as it unfolds. Read their full defamation lawsuit here.

*Once again, both the authors (Tyler and Timmy) and the ducks (George and Daphne) are actually great friends, and this article was written in the spirit of fun and animal respect awareness. Thank you.
