The Yakima Humane Society is having a huge month of June. Part of it is because of their spay or neuter pet deal (read more below), and the other is because of big-hearted people like you, helping them out and, more importantly, giving a pet a brand new shot at a forever home.

I don’t have kids, but I do have a dog, and so several people wished me a “Happy Fur Father’s Day,” which felt weird to me. Mainly because of a joke I once heard: If I refer to my little dog Rusty as my “Fur Baby,” does that mean he refers to me as his “Skin Daddy”? That just seems wrong.

All joking aside, our pets are like our children; we take of them, love them, and clean up after them, and in return, they give us love, companionship, and more messes to clean up.

Yakima Humane Society’s June Pet Special

Yakima Humane Society has been helping pet parents all this month with a deal at their clinic. Spay or Neuter one pet and get the second pet done for free. Now, of course, this is per household, and an appointment is needed.

Being A Part of The Yakima Valley Pet Community

YHS posted on their Facebook page an achievement as well as a request to the community:

“Last week, we took in 95 animals and had 62 success stories. Whew, that means we took in way more than left the building! So, if you are looking to adopt, come on in and see all of our new faces or check them out on our website.”

Visit YakimaHumane.org for donation and adoption information and ways you can help out.
