The Magic 8-Ball has let me down for the last time. At least with this time’s horrible predictions, I’m much happier in life with it being wrong. Now I wonder, what’s next? What should I use to make more sports predictions now?

What The Magic 8-Ball Was Wrong About

On Friday (2/6, before the Super Bowl), I asked my sports betting buddy the Magic 8-Ball who would win the big game. It gave me an answer I didn’t want to read.

I prompted the Dark Arts in the form of the Magic 8 Ball, 4 times with the same question, worded in different ways. EACH TIME, it gave me the answer that the New England Patriots would win.

Being from Washington, I was rooting for the home team, so this was not the answer I was hoping for. But the weirder thing was how matter-of-fact the answers were. Not once did it come back with a “Future is hazy, try again” or any response that would require repeating the question.

Before Super Bowl LX, the Magic 8-Ball was batting 72% accuracy with my previous picks, but this was such a huge kick in the (8)Balls that I’m ready to find a new way to make my decisions.

What Should My New Washington Sports Prediction Tool Be?

Should I flip a coin? Drop a piece of buttered Toast? Really get into the dark arts and get an Ouija board? Get an AI girlfriend and have her tell me who to root for? Should I make like the Groundhog and come out on game day and look for my shadow to see if I get scared?

I have a Tarot Card deck, so that may be my next adventure, but what do you guys think I should use for future predictions?
