Yakima Valley’s Most Ridiculous Things People Get Angry About

Yakima’s irrational, ridiculous anger topics are wide and varied. When you’re not stressed, many can seem like a simple mistake and even funny. But if you’ve had one of those days, then a blow-up can happen. Here are Yakima’s top items that we can get ‘testy’ about, for no good reason.

Maybe it’s the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Perhaps the non-stop need for friends, family, and the job. Maybe it’s simply the stress of the season. Whatever it is, I’ve noticed my temper being on a short fuse lately, and I’ve been extra snippy. Am I alone?

Yesterday, I screamed at a stranger for not using their turn signal. The car was way ahead, no one was around him, there was no risk of a wreck, but it just annoyed me, and I screamed.

I then realized that it was ridiculous that something that far away that didn’t affect me could enrage me so much. Luckily, I was home shortly after, so I wasn’t behind the wheel very long, one incident away from “Hulking Out”.

But that got me thinking, and asking our Yakima Valley audience: “What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve seen someone get angry about?”

Top Silly Things That Trigger Tempers in the Yakima Valley

The responses we got were quite amusing, but I could see it ticking someone off, especially if it was something that kept occurring, like “Getting someone’s name wrong.”

Politics and Food Service was heavily suggested. Quality and quantity of restaurant food, as well as the speed of delivery, got people riled up. And of course, the less said about politics, the better.

Others took issue with holiday decorating, namely the time frame, putting up stuff too early, or not taking them down fast enough. Granted, Christmas decorations in March are probably pushing it.

The one audience response that made me laugh the hardest was the debate of whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie. I’ve written on this topic quite a bit because it’s amusing to me, and I love this movie.
