Yakima Home Gets New Roof: See Before and After
On average, a typical roof lasts around 15+ years (depending on materials), and as your home ages, upkeep is very important. Not just to safeguard your house and the stuff you have inside it, but to keep your family safe as well. My wife and I debated on taking care of the top of our home, and after 13 years living there, it was time. Check out the before and after photos (along with some of the work below).
Protecting Your Investment
Nowadays, with the housing market going crazy, when you buy a home, that is truly a big investment. The one that we bought in Yakima, 13 years ago has more than doubled in price, probably more so now with all the work that has recently been done.
Upkeep on your home is very important, and if you don’t do it, it can be a costly regret. There are even some insurance companies that are looking at their clients to keep up on their homes, otherwise denying claims when they are made. We didn’t want to be in that situation, so we got to planning and shopping around.

Tackling The Gutters!
At first, we were more concerned about the gutters, because if your home doesn’t have the right water drainage system to deal with what the weather can bring, that can mess up your foundation, walls, and even more. This happened at the place I was renting for years, so I saw the damage firsthand.
Not to mention, every year, because of ice dams and the weight of snow, it was time to redo the gutters. After shopping around, I contacted The Gutter Guys.

The Roof Is Needing Our Attention
My wife and I started looking into a roof replacement after noticing a leak in our patio, one that the gutters couldn’t help. It was time to tackle the big project, and after seeing the work they had performed on my brother’s house in Selah, I called Columbia Plateau Roofing.

We waited a little bit before starting the work because we were up against the Winter season, but as you know, this has been a very light winter, so we finally gave the green flag to Dan and Mike at Columbia Plateau. Check out those photos below.

Getting a new roof and all the parts that come with it is a big undertaking, but a big thank you and great shout out to Columbia Plateau Roofing, The Gutter Guys, SRS Building Products of Union Gap, and Cliffs Septic for coming out and helping keep our house a home!
