Yakima’s Old Bakery to Become Entertainment Hub
How many times have you heard someone say, “I’m bored, there’s nothing to do in Yakima!” I’ve always felt people who are bored easily are boring people. BUT, we got word of something big in the works that we can share with you from the folks behind Tactical Tag & Tact Axe.
Tactics & Tomfoolery Coming To Yakima
The 55,000 square foot vacant building that many remember as the old Franz Bakery will be transformed in the months ahead, giving residents of the Yakima Valley a real treat!
Fans of laser tag, like Nerds Fun Center, or joy riders of go-karts, like at Meadowbrook Family Fun Center, will have a new destination with Tactics & Tomfoolery.
Coming To The Old Franz Building in Yakima
We chatted with Kris and Melissa Froehlich of Tactical Tag about their big move and expansion into the 31 N 4th Ave locations (which has mostly lain vacant since Dec of 2024 when Franz Bakery moved to Union Gap).
“It will take us at least 3 weeks to get our current attractions over there and up and running minimally. Lasertag, axe throwing, and our current classic arcade collection of about 25 games.” – Kris
In the following weeks and months, they plan to expand their arcade, restaurant, and food services mid to late June, private party and karaoke rooms, toddler-specific soft play area, and, if all goes according to plan, an indoor high-speed go-kart track by the end of Summer.

“We’re planning on staying open and operating it through the phases, making it more of a ‘sneak peek’ experience rather than a ‘sorry, we’re under construction’ kind of thing. We’re excited, and we want the community to be as well.” - Kris
Keep an eye on Tactical Tag’s social media and website for more details and information as it develops.
