Fall and Winter Survival Kit: 12 Essentials for Tough Yakimaniacs
Sick and tired of having boring falls and winters? Me, too. This year let’s spice things up by getting together a survival kit that is sure to make you the envy of everyone at work (and neighborhood)!
One thing on my survival kit a couple of years ago was a big neighborhood tree. You see, I hate scraping ice and crap off my windows. Defrosting the car is one of my pet peeves!
A couple of winters ago, the car I was driving broke down, so a friend let me borrow their 4-Wheel drive SUV. The only problem is that it was so huge, it wouldn’t fit underneath the carport in my apartment.
I noticed one night as I was driving home from work during a snowstorm that there were clear spots on the road with no snow underneath the big pine trees.
It was as if a secret portal had been unlocked just for me and some invisible time traveler ghost whispered to me, “Park that big thang under the pine tree, child!”
I parked under one of the trees and the next morning, there was no snow on it! I didn’t even have to defrost the car or scrape any crap off the windows.
I leaped for joy!
I said all that to say, Hey Yakima, if you don’t have a carport or garage to keep your ride free from morning defrost or snowstorms, find a big tree!
