Yakima’s Arctic Circle Stands Strong being Last One in Washington State
I've always been a fan of Arctic Circle since I was young. Growing up in Yakima we had a few options for places kind of near us with Arctic Circle being one of them. They had one of the best selections of milkshakes in town, if you weren't feeling burgers they had other options like fish and chips and, as a kid, the free toy with kids meals was always far superior to most other options in town in my opinion. Though we have had other locations in Yakima, the Arctic Circle on 40th and Nob Hill is the last remaining Arctic Circle in all of Washington State.
I lived in Idaho Falls, ID for a few years and we had a location there. Then in visiting other towns in Idaho as well as Utah, I noticed several locations. Not surprising as it's originally from Utah.
I was chatting with my friends in Seattle about their shakes and none of them knew what I was talking about. I had to look it up and, sure enough, according to the Arctic Circle website, Yakima's location is the final one. I swore there were more around Washington but Yakima rules and here we are.
Curious, I looked up the other locations. Of the 70 locations still standing only one in Washington but also only one location in Arizona and Nevada. There's a couple in Oregon and Wyoming and several in Utah and Idaho Falls. Interesting.
I couldn't imagine there not being an Arctic Circle at that location so I support them when I can. At least for their shakes but my kids love the idea of getting chicken rings or mini corn dogs in their kids meals. And love how they decorate the windows with classic Halloween decor come October. Next time you don't feel like doing the dishes, swing by Arctic Circle and show them some love.
