2020 was, obviously, a brutal year for all of us but for the already less fortunate, it is getting more and more difficult to find relief here in Yakima.

Yakima's Union Gospel Mission (located at 1300 North First Street) is in desperate need of cash donations to continue to help feed, clothe and shelter the homeless here in town. Earlier today, we received a heartfelt message asking if we could put the word out to you for some much-needed assistance!

The Mission's mission statement reads as such from their website at YUGM.org: "Yakima Union Gospel Mission (YUGM) is dedicated to serving men, women and children experiencing homelessness with the compassion of Christ. We provide emergency and long-term services to our guests to help them escape the struggle of life on the streets."

The Mission is looking for, what they are calling, "207 Day Partners". What is the significance of 2-OH-7, you might wonder?

For a donation of just $2.07, you can help to provide a person desperately in needof a warm, nutritious meal. The Union Gospel Mission (UGM) are searching for -- you guessed it -- 207 big-hearted donors to commit to making a pledge of $207 dollars by February 7th, 2021. Yes, that's 02/07.

Obviously, this is the coldest time of the year and it unmercifully coincides with one of the lowest times of giving.  Please consider counting what blessings you DO have and become a "207 Day" partner with Yakima's Union Gospel Mission!
