While no mass vaccinations sites have been announced in Yakima some people are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations in Yakima County. Those who are 65-years of age and those who are 50 and older living in multi-generational households are now able to be vaccinated. A press release from the Yakima Health District also says "the vaccine is available to those who are 50 and older who can't live independently and receive long-term care from a relative or caregiver, or someone who works outside the home, lives with and cares for a young child like grandparent/grandchild."
The Washington Department of Health released a tool called “Phase Finder” that can be accessed at findyourphasewa.org Phase Finder is set up to determine if you are eligible for a vaccination. The site will ask you a series of questions and if you're eligible for a vaccination you'll be given a list of providers that have received the COVID-19 vaccine. The press release from the health district says it’s important for community members to understand that the providers who have received the COVID-19 vaccine are not always scheduling appointments for community members.
All clinics are currently requiring scheduled appointments. Individuals are asked to not visit a location without an appointment. There is no list for community members to sign up for.
Health officials say Yakima County continues to receive limited amounts of the vaccine.
As of January 18, 2021 Yakima, County has administered COVID-19 vaccine to6,197 individuals. 1,515of those have received their 2nddose. These numbers do not include doses that have been administered to staff and residents of long-term care facilities through the Federal Pharmacy Partnership.
