What Are The COVID Kiosks & Where Are They In Washington?
I had a COVID scare 2 weeks ago. I felt bad, with muscle aches, headaches, and no energy; it felt like I was walking through a fog and crawling through sludge.
My wife and I had guests coming over for the weekend, so the worry that I might have 'da corona' was in my mind, so I took one of those at-home tests.
Long story short, it came out negative; after some ibuprofen and hitting the sheets early, I woke up feeling 80% better.
I worked for many years at a medical lab (while doing radio at the same time), so I'm no stranger to those tests, and yeah, the Q-tip swab up the nose is no fun, especially when you go deeper than you would like.
That's why I did a 2nd take when I saw how the Washington State Department of Health has COVID and Flu testing kiosks available throughout the state.
My first thought went to that episode of Futurama with the Suicide Kiosk.
Do I trust a vending machine that is used to give me snacks and, until recently, DVDs to shove something up my nose… AND BE GENTLE?
Nope, my mind went wild; it is not like that.
The machine dispenses free test kits. COVID-19, Flu, and some areas around Washington have included naloxone, fentanyl test kits, as well as reproductive health and dental hygiene kits.
For a health and test kit kiosk, visit TestAndGo.com and enter your zip code to find the closest one.
