Did we just get a glimpse into a crystal ball that holds the future success of the Seattle Mariners... yesterday?!?!

The Mariners opened their 2021 Cactus League schedule on Monday (February 28) with a walk-off 5-4 victory over the highly touted San Diego Padres with whom the Mariners share their Spring Training facility in Peoria, Arizona. Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 9th inning, Mariners phenoms Jarred Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez showed the promise that has them ranked as the #4 (Kelenic) and #5 (Rodriguez) top prospects in all of Major League Baseball by propelling them to victory.

Kelenic worked a walk with two outs and Rodriguez singled sharply up the middle to drive in the winning run. Because the game was not televised, the Mariners, via their official Twitter account posted the video of what Mariners fans hope to see for many, many years to come.

While the odds that both players begin the 2021 campaign in the minor leagues, it was still exciting to see that future success for the M's -- who have the longest playoff drought in all of professional sports at 19 consecutive years -- may be closer to becoming a reality than even the most wishful fan may have thought. It's fun to dream, right?!?!

As if we needed any more reason to be hyped-up about the return of Major League Baseball and the notion of a full 162-game season, the Mariners PR department put together an epic "sizzle reel" showcasing the potential that the current youngest team in the big leagues has fermenting in their previously maligned farm system. Check it out...

And if you don't think that fans are beyond ready to return to the ballpark, you'd be sorely mistaken as evidenced by these fans that made the trek from Seattle to the desert to see the M's compete in person.

The Mariners do not play today but will get back to action tomorrow (March 2) when they host the Cleveland Indians at the Peoria Sports Complex. First pitch is slated for 12:10 p.m.
