Houston Astros radio play-by-play announcer Robert Ford, now in his fifth season behind the mic for the club, spent a summer calling baseball action in the Yakima Valley in the summer of 2002 with the former Yakima Bears.

Last night, Ford became the first broadcaster in Astros team history to call a World Series win in the epic 11-inning battle at Chavez Ravine last night that saw Houston even up the series at a game apiece following a thrilling 7-6 victory.
