Four Cars Stolen Every Morning Since The Yakima Weather Turned Cold

Stop leaving your car running unattended in the morning to warm up.

The Yakima Police Department has reported that the illegal practice of starting your car in your driveway and going back inside is still very common in Yakima.

When the weather got cold, thieves took advantage of area residents who really made it easier for them.

"We've seen 2-4 cars stolen every morning by thieves taking unattended cars left running," a YPD social media plea said this week. "Car thieves look for opportunity and the best thing we can do to not be a victim is to not give them opportunity. #stopautotheft"
