The act of "Rickrolling" has become a fine art. Especially picking up steam in 2008 when YouTube used it as a massive April Fools' Day prank. If you're one of the few people who have never been rickrolled, here's what it is in a nutshell, an internet bait & switch prank. You think you're clicking on a link, to see information, a cool picture, a cat playing piano, etc. and then boom, you're greeted with Rick Astley's 1987 hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up". Why the act of a bait and switch? Simply to mess with people on the internet. It was first called "duckrolling" where instead of Mr. Astley's catchy tune, it was a picture of a duck, chat forums would change the word "eggroll" with "duckroll" as a prank (I refuse to go down the rabbit hole and click on more links about why eggrolls were a huge discussion point back in the day). Why "Never Gonna Give You Up"? It all started because someone liked that song, and when the trailer for the video game Grand Theft Auto IV was released, someone linked to Rick Astley instead of GTA to create the first ever "Rickroll".

If you would have asked me which song from the 80's I thought would still be haunting us through internet gags over 30 years later, I would have totally thought it'd be Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Well now we have a new way to prank your friends, especially the LEGO lovers in your life. Thanks to YouTuber Domy13, who spent a week crafting the ultimate "brickroll", you can now enjoy Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" in LEGO form! Now this is not a series of Stop-Motion pictures set to the tune, those are incredible as well, but this blew me away! Watch below and head over to Domy13's page to watch a side-by-side comparison video. Well done!
