The "Run to Break the Chain 5k" on Halloween will begin at Carlon Park starting at 10:00 a.m. and will wind through the town. The goal of the self-described "laid back" run is to help raise money for the non-profit organization Operation Underground Railroad that fights to take down sex-trafficking rings as well as rescue and rehabilitate the victims of these rings.

More event info, including masks and social distancing guidelines, can be found at a Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/1274935019512938.

Registering costs $30 and if you do so by October 18th you will get a commemorative t-shirt.
