Is Yakima Ready For The Sour Patch Oreo Mash-Up?
I received a text from my buddy Jason with a picture of this new flavor of Oreo.
I recognized them but couldn't remember if I tried them or not.
Thank goodness that my wife's memory is better than mine because we had not, but they were a flavor she had been looking forward to.
Off to the store we went!
TASTE TEST & REVIEW LEGAL DISCLAIMER: OREO Sour Patch Kids Cookies
This is in no way a paid advertisement for or against this brand and flavor of cookies.
They were purchased with my own money and consumed with my own mouth.
I try and review these types of snacks because I enjoy it, most of the time. (Looking at you Pickle Chips).
Taste Test of OREO Sour Patch Kids Cookies
Opening up the package, they smelled fruity, much like opening a pack of Fruity Pebbles cereal.
The part I don't quite understand, is I love vanilla OREO's and I love Sour Patch Kids candy... but why don't I love these!?
The texture is that of a normal Oreo cookie, so that's good. But specks of candy in the creme filling are hard like sprinkles not soft like gummy candies (which is what sour patch kids usually are).
The taste was that of a Jelly doughnut raspberry filling. If you love jelly doughnuts and crunchy cookies, then you'll love these. The jelly taste lingered.
Which might be that was the weird part for me, getting that taste but not the texture I'm used to.
2nd Opinion of OREO Sour Patch Kids Cookies
Stephanie (my wife) ate one, then opened it up (you know, the proper way to eat an OREO).
"Not sour, a little tart, but I love them! Best OREOS ever!" - Stephanie
I woke up this morning, and the rest of the pack was gone, so she must have taken them to work to share with her co-workers; in other words, she REALLY loved them!
