Doritos Guacamole! Are In Yakima, And We Tried Them!
This was a delightful surprise when I spotted these on a Yakima store shelf, and before I could grab a bag to try, my wife beat me to the punch. She loves guacamole, whereas I, truth be told, have never eaten guacamole before. So, I went into this completely blind. Am I now a fan of guac?
The reason I've never eaten guacamole is because of the look. To me, an avocado looks fine, but after it's turned into guac, it honestly looks like the stuff in a baby's diaper. If it doesn't look appealing, I won't try it. Yes, in some regard, I have the judgment of a 5-year-old.
Taste Testing Legal Disclaimer Doritos Guacamole!
Like with all my Timmy Tries article reviews, this is not a paid advertisement. I like money, but no one will give me money for eating and reviewing their stuff, so I will just continue doing it because I like to. These chips were paid for with my own money by the demand of my wife.
Taste Test Of Doritos Guacamole!
As I stated above, I do not know what guacamole tastes like. So, opening the bag and taking a deep breath, I only really smelled salt. Is this a good start?
As I ate them, it tasted like a salty chip with something else. The aftertaste was slightly peppery and a bit spicy. Was that 'something else' guacamole? I dunno. Luckily, here's a second opinion.
2nd Opinion Taste Test of Doritos Guacamole!
Stephanie (my wife) actually tried them before I did; that's how excited she was for them. She thought they were fine and tasted like guacamole. Then she got experimental and made nachos.

As she ate her nachos, she shared this tidbit:
"They're fine, but kind of boring. I'd much rather take a normal chip and dip it into a bowl of guac."
Final Review Thoughts On Doritos Guacamole!
Now that I've tried the chip, I don't think I'm missing anything by never trying the dip. The bag does say that the chips pair well with Mtn Dew; maybe I should have tried that, although I don't think it would have made much difference for me.

I'm super happy that Doritos keeps trying new flavors, but I don't think this will be one that sticks around for the long run. What do you think? Tap the App and let us know.
