NFL insider
Adam Schefter tweeted that the Hawks, looking to replace the recently departed Brian Schottenheimer, appear to be in line to hire the Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron.

ESPN.com reporter Brady Henderson
mentions in his column that the Rams have now lost five members of Head Coach Sean McVay's coaching staff. He also mentions that Hawks star quarterback Russell Wilson, apparently, was instrumental in the process of tabbing Waldron -- which had been the source of much speculation.

Wilson's self-proclaimed quarterback guru, Jake Heaps, was thrilled with the announcement of Seattle's pending decision as evidenced by his reaction in the following tweet:

Heaps went on to extol the virtues of the new O.C. in an article he posted online as well.

Waldron's Wikipedia entry already has him listed as the Seahawks Offensive Coordinator. Before joining the Rams in 2017, he was also with the Washington Football Team and the New England Patriots.

The 41 year-old Waldron is a native of the Pacific Northwest having been born in Portland, OR.

Will Waldron prove to be the "secret sauce" to jump-start the Seahawks offense that struggled in the second half of 2020? Time will tell...
