It's been quite a while since there was a Shred & Med Take back day. Thanks to the pandemic, the regular event had to hit the pause button, but it looks like the next one is coming up sooner rather than later. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 24th! This free event will be taking place between 9am till 1pm at CASHMERE VALLEY BANK (127 West Yakima Ave.) in Yakima.

The event is put on by Crime Stoppers & looks to help combat & prevent identity theft by shredding documents (bills / sensitive documents / tax forms / personal items). They are also offering a free way to safety dispose of your old prescription drugs and old medicine, helping prevent it from going back into the community and schools.

Shredding material is limited to two banker boxes or three shopping bags of personal items per drop off. No limit on RX drugs you can dispose of. Just please make sure that the shred & medications are properly separated.

This event is free, but donations are welcome! All donations will go to support the organization's expenses as well as future reward funds. It takes a lot of help to make this event a success. Crime Stoppers wish to thank their sponsors at Cashmere Valley Bank, Yakima County Sheriff's Department, CI Shred, Pacific NW University of Health Sciences, the Yakima Police Department & Leonard Rickey Investment Advisors.
