SpongeBob Gets a Tony Nom for Tyler & Perry

The new "SpongeBob Squarepants: The Musical" is up for a couple of Tony Awards. Why would we be telling you about that here on the KATS site? Well because we enjoy all things spongy and porous AND also because  Aerosmith's Steven Tyler & Joe Perry have received nominations for "Best Original Score (Music And/Or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre" for their song "Bikini Bottom Boogie," which is featured in the new stage play according to WAAF!

We'll find out if The Bad Boys from Boston get to add a Tony to their other awards (MTV VMA, People's Choice, AMA, etc.) when The Tony Awards air on CBS on June 10.

Let's hope that this isn't the last of the new music from Aerosmith. It does give good hope for new stuff, or at least unreleased stuff as Perry has talked about album plans before the band's 50th anniversary tour happening next year.

If we don't get new Aerosmith... at least we can all still rock out to Goofy Goober!
