The latest Star Wars film, Rise of Skywalker definitely split fans down the middle. Some loved it, some hated it. Others said that it played it too safe with non-stop fan service, and being afraid to take risks like The Last Jedi. Others felt it was great, and a fitting end to the Skywalker Saga. Myself, I liked it, but felt they dropped the ball in how Rey fit into the whole saga. I felt Rey should have been a clone of Luke from his hand lost in Episode V, It would have fit so many clues from the previous movies (memories from the lightsaber/familure with the falcon in 7, parents being nothing/reflections of the cave in 8) but it wasn't meant to be. One thing that most everyone agreed on was that when an alternate script came to light, that the film should have taken more influence from from it, Star Wars IX: The Duel of Fates aka the Colin Trevorrow Script. I could go into detail about the differences between the alternate version of the movie and what was released (and now available for home viewing), but why do that, when someone made a pretty awesome animated short. Thanks to Ethan who took the time to create The Duel of Fates into a 10 minute long animated epic! Check the video out below.
