Well, we had Dennis Rodman help out with North Korea, why not get someone to help with Russia? Steven Seagal looks to be just the man for the job, at least according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, who appointed him a "special representative" for humanitarian relations between Russia and America.

Seagal has been a Russian citizen since 2016 and is reportedly close with Vladimir Putin, the Russian president. A post on the ministry's official Facebook page translated reads “The task is to promote the further development of Russian-American relations in the humanitarian sphere, including interaction in the field of culture, art, public and youth exchanges and more,” and is a position similar to a United Nations goodwill ambassador.

When I first read this, I thought it was going to be a plot for another "Under Siege" movie, but nope, looks to be true according to The Hill.com.
