I wanted to publicly tell my friend and fellow jock, Curt Cartier, him what I haven't had the, well... balls to since his life was turned upside down a couple of months ago and pay proper tribute on his last day on the air. For now, I hope.
Dear Listener,
It was 32 years ago today, June 2nd, 1989, that I worked an overnight shift (Midnight to 6:00 a.m.) on the radio by myself for the very first time.
Today is my 50th birthday. Not sure how I feel about that. I do know that if I look back on my life even 20 years ago I could NEVER have imagined how blessed I would be at the age of 50.
With that, I sharing a letter to me at 50 from 30 year-old me:
They say that one person can't make a difference. That was before the advent of social media. Now one person with an opinion via social media can find a few militant like-minded folks and if their opinion strikes a chord with 20 or 30 people who share something with their 500-600 Facebook friends they can effect a change...
You know that feeling when you want to throat punch the guy who left a shopping cart in a prime parking spot because he was too lazy to push it into one of those corrals? You wouldn't be the cause of all this mess, would you?
