Not many things scary me. Once in a while a snake will make me jump, and I've had nightmares about aliens or forgetting how to breathe. Movies scare people. Animals scare people. Other people scare people ... but music? Can music scare you? Well, in my 37 years of auditory enjoyment, two songs have actually scared the crap out of me. I figured in celebration of Halloween, I'd share these tunes.

Tool: "Faaip De Oiad"

This song from 2001's Lateralus album is weird, if you can even call it a song. Using a mixture of instruments, computer sounds, static white noise and an actual phone call of an alleged alien abduction recorded on Coast To Coast AM with Art Bell is creepy to say the least. The phone call itself is really weird, but then you put the artistic talents of Tool behind the phone call, and it turns me into a Hallo-weenie.

Pink Floyd: "Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict"

From the 1969 album "Ummagumma," the song actually does have lyrics, but I never made it to the end of the song to find out what they are. Two words come to mind to describe this song... "Experimental" and "Holy Creepy Crap What Were They Smoking When They Came Up With This!"
