If you're one of those families that buy a vehicle for Christmas (hopefully not as a surprise for a spouse because that could lead to divorce pretty fast), you might want to double-check the recall list. Especially with recent Toyota vehicles!

Just last month, Toyota issued a recall of Nearly 2 million Toyota RAV4 SUVs due to a battery issue that could cause fire. Read more on that here.

Now comes word that Toyota is recalling around 1 million vehicles (cars and SUVs) due to a faulty censor linked to the passenger airbag.

The fear is that in the event of a crash, the airbag would fail to inflate due to the "Occupant Classification System Sensor" (the one that can tell if you have someone in the front seat or not) short-circuiting or inaccurately reading the weight of the passenger determining if it is a child or an adult sitting shotgun, which affects the strength and pressure of the airbag's deployment.

The recall affects 15 different 2020 and 2021 year Toyota and Lexus models.
including popular Camry, Rav4, Sienna and Lexus Rx350 & ES350 series.

Toyota says that they'll be reaching out to customers of recalled vehicles in February 2024 and that they'll be instructed to bring their vehicles in for inspection and replacement if needed.

And not to be outdone by Toyota, Honda just issued their own recall due to fuel pump issues. For more information on that recall, click here.
