Two People Escape Sunday Morning Fire in Yakima

Yakima Fire Department firefighters say two people were able to escape a house fire in the 1500 block of South 12th Avenue early Sunday morning. Firefighters say they arrived at about 12:06 a.m. Sunday to find a large fire inside the home that extended to the attic. They say the two people inside were able to crawl out a window to escape. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $140,000.

It was third house fire YFD responded to in less than 48 hours. There were no injuries reported. The three fires combined caused an estimated $290,000 in damages.
