Washington Has the Ninth-Worst Drivers in the Country? I Disagree!
I have driven in just about every state in the United States except Alaska. I have still never been there, but it's on my bucket list. From my travels, I can tell you who has the worst drivers ever. But a study by an online insurance agency, Quote Wizard, came up with a list of its own. I will have to disagree with them on a few of these.Below is my take and Quote Wizard's take.
Quote Wizard's list of the 10 states with the best drivers in the country:
- Rhode Island
- Florida
- Mississippi
- Michigan
- Nevada
- Arkansas
- South Dakota
- Illinois
- West Virginia
- Oklahoma
MY list of the 10 states with the best drivers:
- New York (New York City taxicab drivers are the best. They got me to the JFK airpor in less than 30 minutes from Greenwich Village!)
- Wyoming [I lived there and they actually drive the right way. Blinkers, move back over to the right and the whole thing]
- Colorado [Just like Wyoming, they know how to drive. When you have snow 9 months out of the year, you become a good driver]
- North Dakota [Same as the above]
- Louisiana [They don't get a lot of snow but, they drive like you should]
- Northern California [California has really bad drivers but, they are not in the North]
- Illinois [They have so many people so it is surprising that they are really good drivers]
- Wisconsin [They are like Wyoming and Colorado drivers. They have so much snow that they better know how to drive]
- Northern Utah [Same with the other places with snow. North Utah are really good drivers. South, not so much.]
- Idaho [they drive really well in Idaho. They do get some snow so that might have something to do with it.]
Quote Wizard's 10 worst-driving states in the country:
- Utah
- California
- Virginia
- Maine
- Nebraska
- South Carolina
- North Dakota
- Colorado
- Washington
- Arizona
MY 10 worst-driving states:
- Southern California
- South Dakota
- Arizona
- Maine
- Virginia
- Southern Utah
- South Carolina
- Rhode Island
- Florida
- Nevada
So there you have it -- listen to me or them, but remember: They're the guys whose statistics help determine your insurance rates!
