West Valley QB Skyler Cassel Named WIAA’s ‘Athlete of the Week’
Every week throughout the school year, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) names their student-athletes for "outstanding performances and impactful contributions in their communities."
This week, a standout performance by a West Valley Rams Sophomore Quarterback got the nod.
For week #7 (March 31 - April 6) of the Spring sports season, Skyler Cassel was recognized for his stellar performance. From the WIAA website:
"Cassel completed 24-of-32 pass attempts for 520 yards and eight touchdowns in the Rams' 56-28 victory over Eisenhower. The sophomore threw touchdowns to four different receivers to help lead the team to a 4-1 season and a league championship in his first year as a varsity starter."
For his accomplishments, Cassel, as well as the other winners from across the state, will get a letter of recognition from the WIAA, a certificate stating their achievement as well as a $25 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods chain of athletic supply stores.
