Not only do we have a new pro football team in Seattle (the XFL's Dragons), we also have a new indoor pro football team coming to Yakima!
The Yakima Canines are a new entry into the American West Professional Indoor Football Conference (AWFC) and they will be kicking off their inaugural season March 14 in the Tri-Cities at the Toyota Center.

The Canines will play their home games under the Yakima Valley SunDome on the grounds of State Fair Park and will begin their home schedule April 4 with a 6 p.m. kickoff (subject to change).

Yakima becomes the fifth franchise in the league, along with the Tri-Cities Fire, the Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks, the Idaho Horsemen and Reno, (Nev.), Express.
The Canines, as well as the AWFC, are the third try at making indoor football a go in the valley. The Yakima Shockwave and the Yakima Valley Warriors each lasted one season.

Season tickets for the six home games are $179 and include some pretty cool VIP spiffs such as T-shirts, photo ops and pregame barbecues. Single game tickets are reportedly going to run between $16 and $32.
