Yakima city leaders say they've found the next Yakima City Manager. The council on Wednesday voted 5-1 to begin negotiations with Robert Harrison. Mayor Patricia Byers voted no saying she wanted more time to decide and Councilman Jason White didn't attend the meeting.
Harrison was most recently the chief administrative officer for the city of Renton until may of this year. He also spent eight years as the Issaquah city administrator.
Now the city will conduct a background check on Harrison and then start contract talks.
The council did have other choices. The others included Yakima interim city manager Alex Meyerhoff, Pasco city manager Dave Zabell and Dick Mckinley public works Director in California
