Taking your dog outside can be a little tricky during the summer. It’s hot, and you don’t want to burn their little feet; plus, remember, you’re outside sweating, and you’re wearing a tank top! They’re wearing a fur coat! You need to find ways to keep your bet (and yourself) cool and also get exercise and have fun. We have some suggestions!

Rusty Likes The Water… To A Point

My little dog Rusty (who just celebrated his 15th birthday) gets the zoomies and has his fun outside.

My wife does an amazing job, walking him in the morning before the sun starts baking the concrete here in Yakima, and again later at night after everything has cooled.

But keeping him cooped up in the house all day isn’t the best idea, especially when he still has energy and wants to live his best life… same goes for me.

We have a pool, but he has issues with it. My little dog will only tolerate water on his feet; once it touches his tummy, he’s out. He doesn’t mind a kiddie pool, but since we’re not in it playing with him, he tends to just jump out.
