I've enjoyed Winey Dogs quite a bit.

Finding a gourmet hot in Yakima can be tricky, especially since Poochies closed 15 years ago (give or take).

But when I heard about Winey Dogs' next project, I was baffled and excited.

Then I saw a picture and didn't know what to think.

I've enjoyed many burgers in my time; some of my current favorites are The Ultimate Burger at Famous Dave's, Yakima Steak Company's Western Burger, Outback's Blooming Burger, a double Miner with cheese from Miner's, the Bacon King at Burger King, and now I have a new one to add to my list.

The UFO BURGER has landed in Yakima.

When I first saw pictures of the burger, I was worried about the size. Because of the UFO shape and the Uncrustable sandwich style, it was going to be a slider-sized burger with extra breading for the UFO saucer shape.

No, this was a good size burger. It tasted great, and the design of the whole thing was really cool.

A great 'On The Go' burger, with everything sealed inside like a burrito or a hot pocket, it cuts down on mess.

My UFO came with bacon, and my wife ordered a pulled pork version, both were great.

I asked where this idea of an 'Uncrusta-burger' came from, and Kodey Currier (Winey Dogs owner and operator) told me how it started up in 1962 at the Seattle Worlds Fair.

Disappeared for a while, got popular in Europe, and is now regaining popularity in the U.S., and I can see and taste why.
