Bert Kreischer brought his Fully Loaded Comedy Festival to the Gorge Amphitheatre (George, Washington) on Saturday, July 15^th. This was a jam-packed night of comedians on the bill. Stavros Halkias, Andrew Santino, Bruce Bruce, Big Jay Oakerson (among others), and of course, The Machine himself, Bert Kreischer! My friend and local comic Bahiyyih Mudd went to the show and posted some pics on her social media (Facebook, Instagram & TikTok). I reached out to her to see if she wanted to write up a “Comedy Concert Report”. I got a one-word reply “YESSSS!!” Without further delay, here’s Bahiyyih’s concert report on Bert Kreischer’s Fully Loaded Comedy Festival:

I love comedy, but I don't regularly go to big comedy shows for a couple of reasons. First off, it makes me feel like I am at work sometimes. I have a hard time because I'm unintentionally critiquing the performance. Listening too hard, keeping time, recognizing how it could be better, or watching for great saves. I want to ensure they are standing in the light, not stepping on their laughs, etc. It is hard to just relax and take it for what it is. A show. A show that I have absolutely no control over.

My second reason is, um, I should be on this show. LOL. It is hard for me to be just a civilian at a comedy show. Sitting with the masses, trying to blend in and hide my stage envy that is eating me ALIVE. I should be backstage; I shouldn't have this view… I need to know when the mic check was done. I want the order. I want free water bottles and maybe a snack tray. I want to BS with the other artist. Swap war stories and casually make world-class comics laugh.

With that being said, I attended the Bert Kreishner Fully Loaded Comedy Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater this past Saturday (I believe the very first Comedy Show performed at this massive venue). With the 7 pm start time, the Sun was still up and aggressive. I am not a fan. The Sun is my enemy. I am a shade girl. One thing about comedy is, it is done best inside and in the DARK. Outdoor shows can leave your jokes hanging in the abyss. You can't hear the laughs floating back, which can mess with timing and your confidence in your jokes.

I really felt for the first 5 acts that performed with the Sun blinding and searing the audience, and have you seen the view at the gorge??? It was beautiful and easily stole audience attention. Because of all the distractions, I don't have a commentary about any part of the show that occurred before sundown. I was fighting for my life against the scorching Sun.

After a sundown intermission, the show started back up in FULL FORCE! The completely black sky mimicked an indoor venue. Focus was 100 percent on the stage. Daniel Simonsen, a Norwegian comic, was awkward in the best way possible, joking about weaponizing being quiet and scaring people with his shyness. He probably wouldn't be the most fun at a social function, but he is a master of the stage.

Stavros Halkias had people choked up... almost literally! About five minutes or so into his set, he was signaled by the crowd that someone needed help. The show was stopped as first responders hustled in and helped a man that was in distress. Starvos came back and lit that stage up! HE IS A MUST-SEE!

Big Jay Okerson was, as always, a filthy classic. He makes it look easy! He does the dirty jokes all the young guys at Open Mic want to do, but he does them well and with skill.

Andrew Santino, Cheeto, he is my favorite. I listen to him so often on the Bad Friends Podcast while I am traveling to GIGs. I feel like me, and Andrew could really vibe off mutual complaints and irritations. It is on my vision board… Me, Santino, a couch with just the most complaints you could ever imagine.

Bert Kreishner, what can you say? He came out, slammed a beer shirtless, and took a very short break to pee on the side of the stage with his mic in hand. He is excellent on stage and doesn't miss a beat. He is like organized chaos with body hair. It had a rough sweltering start, but it ended up being a fantastic time, with lots of laughs, great memories, and some comedy envy.
