Here we go! Starting this week, another season of Downtown Summer Nights is set to fill your Thursday evenings with music and laughter all summer! The food will be excellent and so will the drinks! It all starts again this Thursday (June 16) from 5:30-9 p.m. at our new location -- Front Street.

There's an old adage in show business that goes something like this: "Leave the crowd wanting more." This Thursday night, those who attend the final installment of the city of Yakima and Townsquare Media's "Downtown Summer Nights" street concert series -- powered in part by Washington Broadband -- will most definitely be clamoring for it to never end...

The third annual Chinook Music Festival kicks off tonight at Jim Sprick Community Park in Naches. The festival is getting high praise as one of the best small fests on the West Coast and is attracting artists that are getting national notoriety such as Sturgill Simpson, whose new album was recently profiled in Rolling Stone magazine and recently performed on David Letterman's show.

Thursday afternoon, alternative-rock band Fall Days out of Bonney Lake stopped by the studio to give us a taste of what was to come when they hit stage for Downtown Summer Nights. The upstart band, playing together for nearly two years, were the winners in an under-21 battle-of-the-bands held at the Seasons Performance Hall back on April 5.

Earlier this morning, I had the distinct pleasure and honor of being the first radio disc jockey to play the new single from Australian guitar ninja Blake Noble's forthcoming album "Underdog." The album, Noble's first U.S. release, will be unveiled Saturday night at the 4th Street Theater.  Tickets for the event are available at the Capitol Theater Box Office, on-line at www.TicketsWest.
