Beat The Snow & See A Show! 14 Events & Concerts in Yakima & PNW To Check Out

I know I’m not alone when I say I’m sick of the snow and am starting to get cabin fever. Luckily the New Year brings a slew of new shows and events to the Pacific Northwest. Whether you’re ready to get out and bang your head to a concert or kick back and enjoy a Broadway play in your hometown, there are plenty of events this month.

Yakima’s Capitol Theatre is bringing The Simon & Garfunkel Story to the stage on Wednesday & Thursday, January 11th & 12th.

A Taste of the Arts!

The Seasons Performance Hall is jam-packed with events! From musical performances that stand alone to special events with a dinner and a performance! Indie/Alt-Country singer and songwriter David Ramirez on Thursday, January 12th, and from NBC’s The Voice, Stephanie Anne Johnson Duo will bring her powerful voice to the Seasons on Friday the 20th. If you want to get hands-on and artsy, you’re invited to Paint The Town and create your own masterpiece on Saturday, the 21st.

Wet The Whistle While Being Entertained

Many local bars, pubs, and clubs cater to dancing with a DJ as well as karaoke. Some invite bands to perform, especially on the weekends, so keep an eye on your favorite hangout for upcoming entertainment. A couple of shows that have popped up on my radar are Genevieve performing at Whistlin’ Jack's Lodge on Saturday the 7th. Englewood heights band at Wenas Creek (Selah) on the 14th. Rockers will enjoy FAZED on the 14th & INVICTA on the 27th, both at Brews & Cues on the 28th, and stand-up comics can grab the mic at Bill’s Place Tuesday nights.

Out Of Town, Into A Concert!

If you’re looking for music entertainment on a bigger scale, you’ll have to travel outside the valley. Classic rock fans can look forward to Cheap Trick performing in Auburn on the 12th, and The Marshall Tucker Band will be in Suquamish on the 21st. On the heavier side of rock, Anthrax and Black Label Society will be in Seattle on the 18th. Jazz fans can check out Booker T. Jones in Bremerton on the 20th, and country fans can enjoy Joe Nichols in Suquamish on the 6th.
