I knew I was right as a kid when  I screamed at my mom "Popcorn is too good for you"!! HA Turns out I was right. Dr. Joe Vinson did a study and found out that popcorn has higher levels of antioxidants called polyphenols then fruits and vegetables.  One serving of popcorn has up to 300mg of these polyphenols compared to only about 150mg in a serving of fruits or vegetables.

It turns out popcorn is considered a "Super Food".  Popcorn is the only completely unprocessed whole grain, and contains about 70% of a persons daily whole grain intake.  Who would have ever thought the tasty yellow kernels are considered a healthy food.
