Tiramisu OREOS Are FINALLY In Yakima! Are They Worth The Wait?

According to Wikipedia, Tiramisu is an Italian dessert pastry mixed with cocoa and coffee among other ingredients (paraphrased).

Ever since my wife saw that these existed she has been on the lookout and her joy at finding them yesterday was second to none. How long did that joy last?

This review is going to be a little different. Mainly because I didn't try them. I learned my lesson about coffee flavored treats when I reviewed the M&M's Cold Brew flavored candy.

I have a real love hate relationship with coffee. I love the smell of Folgers or other brands of pure black coffee percolating, but I can't stand the taste.

I opened up the bag and the smell hit me. I thought I would have loved it, but nope, I did not. It was an extremely strong smell of cocoa and coffee. So much that my kitchen has that aroma still the next day even though the cookies are out of the house.

The Results Of The OREO Tiramisu Actual Taste Test

My wife was not deterred by the cookie fumes. Tried one and liked it. Didn't love it, but did like it. Enough she took the rest of the cookies with her for her co-workers to snack on.

Her comments on the taste was that it reminded her of a coffee cookie. If she didn't know it was supposed to be tiramisu, she wouldn't have guessed it. Just a chocolate coffee flavored cookie.

2nd & 3rd Taste Test Opinions of Tiramisu OREOs

I did bring a few cookies to the radio station and my spectacular co-workers Emily and Jessi both tried one. They both loved how thin they were.

They liked the taste, but felt it needed more. Like actual coffee to dunk the cookies in. It reminded one of them of a drink called a Mudslide.

BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each.
