Well, that was one for the books. Amid the unusual circumstances due to the unprecedented pandemic we've all been held captive by, the 4th of July holiday weekend has come and gone. How did you celebrate? I know of many people who just hunkered down at home - while others, like some of my family and I, hit the road.

We ventured up to beautiful Lake Chlelan. Born and raised in the Wenatchee area,  I've spent many summer hours cooling off in the glacier-fed lake, where, even on a 95 degree day, you can emerge with chattering teeth.

Does this look relaxing? Well, it was. Something about summer sun, a lounge chair, and time away - that helps recharge the batteries. Since Chelan County is a little farther along in the Covid-Craze - we were actually able to stop in to a couple of restaurants. Social distancing was carefully observed - lots of elbow room - but fun.

One stop I highly recommend the next time you're in Chelan, is Karma Vineyards and their amazing 18 Brix Restaurant. We enjoyed a gourmet lunch, some great conversation with old friends and of course, their exquisite wine.

Meanwhile, back at the beach. This incredibly chill moment was made possible by the ability to order a little taste of home. Bale Breaker was everywhere - shout out to Yakima Beer Industry.

There is much to do both in and around the Lake Chelan area. Whether you're into boating, water-skiing, fishing for some of those monster Lake Trout, kayaking or just swimming and relaxing in the sun, there's something for the whole family to enjoy.

It's great to be home. But Lake Chelan is calling my name already. Back soon.
