Let me first state that I am very grateful for everything I have (received & worked for) and I never take for granted how blessed I am. So as you read this, please remember I'm writing this post to be "cheeky". Yes, I'm near 40-years-old and yes, I still play video games. When my wife and I decided we were not going to have kids, I decided I didn't need to grow up. Now that that is out the way, let me get to my Christmas tale of confusion.

Imagine, waking up Christmas morning, realizing that the jolly old fat man came in the middle of the night. You get up, put on your slippers and run down stairs! Who am I kidding, there's no down stairs in a trailer (Dave Attell joke). You dive under the tree and find the beautifully wrapped presents. One is for you... it's from Santa, then you look, BOOM! ANOTHER ONE IS FOR YOU! CHRISTMAS JACKPOT! You open then, and you find two games that you wanted! But reality sets in, and you think about all the bad stuff about these games you just opened. You still want them... kind of. This happened to me. Now I'm super happy I got them. But I'm just curious if it was a good thing that I got them. The two games Santa brought me for being a good (or bad) boy all year... Cyberpunk 2077 and Marvel's Avengers.

Like I stated above, I am grateful, and fully plan to enjoy these games... but when? Here's the problem, both of these games have been touted as some of the worst games of this year. In a year that has already gone to crap, two of the biggest games expected, released to many issues. Marvel's The Avengers was rated by IGN at a 6 out of 10, just OKAY. Siting that the game mainly focused on the loot & shoot grind mechanic of the game, that got repetitive very quick, and has yet to fix that problem. The game took a huge hit, even to the point that the company (Cystal Dynamics) still has not recouped the price to even make the game. Sure they're going to be releasing more DLC soon, but no one is playing that game anymore, so did Santa give me the key to an empty playground?

The other game is one that has been on my (and many others) wish lists for the past 8 years. But when Cyberpunk 2077 released earlier this month... the game was flat out broken. In fact, both games Santa brought me are on WhatCulture.com's list for the Top 10 Broken Video Games at Launch. Cyberpunk ranked #1 due to the bugs, and game crashing non-stop. If you have a high-end computer, you're good. I am still rocking the base models of the (now) last gen consoles. So I might be able to enjoy both games, but it could be months from now. So, even though I'm grateful that I got both games, I'm left wondering... knowing what we know now, and since Santa is smarter than all of us... was I on the nice list, and that's why I got what I wanted? Or am I on the naughty list, and Santa got me the video game equivalent to a Christmas Dumpster Fire? Take Timmy's Poll below:
