Comic Book Great, Clayton Crain is Coming to Town!
You've probably seen his work, even if you didn't realize it! Clayton Crain has been doing artwork on the super heroes we love so much since the late 90's. Now days with the popularity of the superhero films and video games, it'd be hard pressed for you to see something advertising Spider-Man or Venom and not be able to six-degrees-of-separation it to Mr. Crain. He's best known for his works with Ghost Rider, X-Force, & Carnage on the Marvel side, even working on the comic book off shoot of the PlayStation 4's Spider-Man video game. He's also worked with other comic greats such as Todd McFarlane and Image Comic's Spawn series. Lately he's been putting ink to paper with Valiant Comics on the comic Rai along with writer Matt Kindt.
Since 2020 & COVID has killed any sort of comic cons for this year, including the San Diego Comic Con, PAX, as well as the Washington State Summer Con. Artists & writers (like most in the entertainment industry) are working extra hard to get their work out to the public. For Clayton Crain, that is doing a national road tour! The Clayton Crain Road Tour 2 started in Medford, Oregon, went all the way to North Carolina and is coming back to the northwest, wrapping up in Silverdale, Washington. But before that final stop, he will be coming back to his home town (he grew up in Moxee) & making an appearance at Yakima's own Ron's Coin & Collectables, this Monday (September 14th) from 12 noon till 5pm!
Like most comic book signings, there is a small fee involved for prints and autographs. Considering the other chances to meet the makers of our escapes have come to a halt this year, I'm quite okay with that! For the hard core collectors out there, there will also be a CGC Rep. on hand. If you don't know what CGC means, it stands for Comic Grading Code. Think about antique road show, only for comics! Please remember to bring your mask, and do your best with social distancing.
