Construction Started in West Valley, But Do We Need Another One?
As I was driving by the empty field on the corner of Washington and 64th Ave, it seemed weird. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It wasn’t until I realized that it wasn’t a field anymore! Where did all the dried grass go? The next thing I knew, there was a fence around the area, and then construction equipment showed up!
I started to get excited. What could they be building? A new Library? No, that’s being built in Union Gap. Oh, another Starbucks… no, that’s also being built in Union Gap. Maybe a new restaurant, perhaps another buffet? Nope, a sign now says what will be built in that location!
Yup, there is going to be another AMPM gas station mini-mart. At first, I was disappointed. But the more I think about it, that might not actually be bad. The closest gas station (to the best of my memory) is the new pumps up at Walmart, but during peak hours, that can be a pain to get to, especially dealing with the busy parking lot.
Otherwise, you have the Shell up in the Orchards on 72nd and Tieton and Meadowbrook Mall location on 72nd and W. Nob Hill Blvd. There is another AMPM further up Washington on the corner of 16th, so this might not be a bad thing, especially if the mini-mart stays open all night.
