Is it just me, or is the 'Christmas Joy' fleeting this year?

Actually, I know it's not JUST me because many of my friends and family members have been vocal about it as well.

I don't know why.

Sure, the political climate was a bumping one this year (as it seems to be most election years), but now that it's done and tempers have (hopefully) cooled, is it that?

Is it the fact that I've been sick with a cough and crud that seems to go away, only to pop back up a few days later, off and on for the past 2 months? (Don't worry, in my case, it isn't COVID).

Is it the different relationships I have in my life? The ones that are no longer there (whether by choice or fate).

I can't put my finger on it, but I know I'm just over it.

I'm done. I don't want to be, and it makes me sad that I feel this way.

I don't want to participate in any of the activities, so I've decided not to decorate my house.

I don't care about the gifts and the ones that are an "obligation"; I'm just getting a case of soda and calling it good.

Weirdly, the only thing that has brought me joy this year has been when my dog has done something adorable or dumb (most times at the same time).

I started looking at photos of my dog from previous years where he was dressed up for Christmas, and that helped a little.

I figured, if others are like me and are fed up and not feeling it this year, maybe several dogs enjoying the 'Paw-Lidays' could help.
